How Does Your Page Look On Google?
Your title and description are the first thing people read about you on Google, before they've seen your website. See how yours could look on a desktop, on a phone and when it's shared, and what to fix so more people click.
Your Search Result Is Your First Impression.
When someone searches for what you do, they see a page of results that all look alike. A clear title that says what you do and where, and a description that gives a reason to click, is often what decides who gets the visit.
This checker reads your page the way Google does and shows you the result it asks for, on a desktop, on a phone and when it's shared, with plain-English fixes.
Search Preview Questions
Why does Google show a different title from the one on my page?+
Google rewrites titles and descriptions when it thinks another wording fits a search better, or when yours is missing, too long or repeated across pages. A clear, accurate title of a sensible length is the one it usually keeps.
How long should a title be?+
About 50 to 60 characters. Google trims titles by width rather than by counting letters, so wide letters use the space up faster. Put what you do and where first, and your business name at the end.
How long should a description be?+
About 120 to 155 characters. Google shows roughly 155 on a desktop and fewer on a phone. Write it as a reason to click: what you do, for whom, and what makes you the one to call.
Does the description help me rank higher?+
Not directly. Google says it doesn't use the description to rank pages, but a good one makes more of the people who see your result click on it.
Why doesn't my logo show next to my result?+
Google shows a site's favicon (the small icon in the browser tab) when it can find one. If there isn't one, it shows a plain globe.
Do you keep the pages I check?+
No. The page is read once to build your preview and isn't stored. The result is a normal link you can share.
